Surrounded by nature
Beautifully situated by the North of the Taff Valley, this pretty town has a somewhat startling heritage. The town is named after Tudful, the Prince of Brycheinoig's daughter, who was famously slain by the Picts in the 5th Century. Her name was canonised - Merthyr Tydfil, and since then many wonderful things have been linked with the town.
Today, Merthyr Tydfil boasts a great range of shops, banks and building societies, chic cafes, pubs and restaurants, whilst more high street names can be found nearby at the Cyfarthfa Retail Park.
When it comes to pastimes, there's so much to choose from in and around the town: invigorate mind, body and soul at Rhydycar Leisure Centre or JJB; enjoy a round of golf at Morlais, in Pant, or Cilsarnws, in Cefn Coed: take a relaxed stroll around one of the many parks; or you can always just sit back and enjoy the comforts of your new Redrow home.
