Chestnut Grange is located in the well regarded Lincolnshire village of Bassingham, which is a particularly pretty village and an extrememely sought after location, as it has a traditional English village feel and rural charm, surrounded by farmland, and yet within easy reach of the A46. The site is within close proximity to the village centre and benefits from aspects over open farmland and rural countryside.

Bassingham is a parish and is located 9 miles south west of Lincoln, one of England's most beauitful Cathedral Cities possessing magnificent architectural heritage dating back over 200 years, and is centred on its world famous Cathedral and Castle. Lincoln has all the amenities of a large town, including nightlife, leisure facilties and a wide range of shops.

Bassingham is also 9 miles North East of Newark-on-Trent, with its Castle ruins at the heart of the town, which hosts a number of open air concerts throughout the year and the famous Beer Festival. Newark has a number of recently opened bars and restaurants in close proximity to the very popular riverside area of the town, and is regarded as the antique centre of the country.

The village of Bassigham is referred to in the Doomsday Book, and the Gothic style church, dedicated to St Michael was completely restored in 1860, although parts of the church have their origins in the 10th century.

Transport

Bassignham has easy access to the A46 which links it to both Lincoln and Newark, and conects to the A1, providing a quick and easy route to the cities of Leicester, Nottingham, Grantham and Stamford. The nearest tarin station is at Swinderby, which is within 3 miles, and provides a cross city link operated by central trains.

The village is well served by a a good range of local facilities and amenities, in the village centre and within walking distance of Chestnut Grange, there is an independent supermarket, newsagents, post office, two traditional public houses, hairdressers, doctors surgery as well as the church. It also boasts an excellent primary school. Within 3 miles of the village is North Hykeham, where there is a popular secondary school, a range of banks, large supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and takeaway food stores and a well equipped leisure centre.
