St Edward’s Park is situated in the village of Cheddleton on the southern fringes of the Peak District, and on the outskirts of the historic market town of Leek. The site, a former hospital is set in private park land and is surrounded by established trees and beautiful rolling countryside.

Being in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands an area of outstanding and varied scenery it is second to none when it comes to family orientated activities for all ages. Many attractions can be found including Britain’s number one theme park Alton Towers, Brindley Mill and Museum, Ladderedge Country Park consisting of seventy acres of parkland. There is the Churnet Valley Railway and Wildlife Park in Kingsley, approximately 5 miles from Cheddleton. Climbing, pony trekking, hand gliding, lake and river fishing, orienteering and golf are among the many other activities available. Brough Park Leisure Centre in Leek brings together a variety of sports and leisure pursuits. Facilities include a swimming pool and teaching pool, squash court, sports hall and fitness suite.
Transport
Within easy reach of the M6 with Manchester to the north and Birmingham to the south and with the A50 giving access to the M1. There is a regular bus service to Leek and the Potteries with other services to Buxton, Ashbourne, Macclesfield and Stoke. The nearest train stations to Leek are at Macclesfield, Buxton or Stoke with trains to Crewe, the Midlands and beyond. Manchester International Airport is the closest airport, but East Midlands and Birmingham International Airport are also within easy reach.

Amenities
Cheddleton is an idyllic village with a post office, pharmacy and other amenities. Nearby Leek, a town of great character with ancient markets, Victorian mills, historic churches and distinctive shops, is an ideal place to shop and makes a refreshing change from modern shopping malls with its cobbled market place and narrow streets, although it does boast three large supermarkets. There is also a wealth of public houses and restaurants. The area has a number of nurseries and schools with a primary school in Cheddleton, and secondary education being found in Leek, which also provides a College of Further Education offering a varied prospectus. There are a number of local doctors and dental surgeries in the immediate area. The nearest hospital is North Staffs Royal Infirmary. Churches of most denominations can be found in the district.
