Over the last fifty years the town has steadily grown, and today you've everything you could possibly need; a large choice of retail outlets, banks, shopping centres, restaurants and 'The Power Station' - a learning resource centre providing adult education, library and creche facilities to the community, free of charge.  Should you need anything else, Newport is less than four miles away.

Excellent sports facilities can be found at both Cwmbran Stadium and Fairwater Leisure Centre, whilst private sports clubs are close by too - The Parkway Hotel is around half a mile away.  Keen golfers will be kept happy, with several excellent clubs, including the famous Celtic Manor Resort.

The nearest hospitals can be found in Abergavenny and Newport, however there are a number of doctors and dentists based in Cwmbran.  The area has a good selection of infant, primary and secondary schools, all of which have excellent reputations and come highly placed in the Torfaen League Table.  Rougemont Private School is recommended as one of the top 100 schools in England and Wales.
