Location

Llys Ffynnon is ideally situated on the outskirts of Oakdale offering lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Blackwood and Newbridge town centre are approximately 2 miles away. Both Cardiff and Newport are easily accessible and the M4 can be reached within 20 minutes.

Recreation & Leisure

There are a number of leisure facilities available locally to suit most tastes and abilities. The leisure centre in Newbridge being only 2 miles away, provides swimming and sports facilities. Excellent health club facilities can be found in Blackwood. There are also a number of golf clubs within the Blackwood area. There is a large multiplex cinema in Caerphilly and a small cinema is located within Blackwood itself. Pontllanfraith offers a small selection of public houses with a larger variety of restaurants being situated in Blackwood town centre. Within half an hour you can find yourself on the Brecon Beacons National Park which offers breathtaking scenery and many other activities. Locally there is a network of cycle routes linked to the local parks at Cwmcam, Sirhowy and Penylan with Brecon, Newport and Cardiff.

Transport

A frequent bus service runs to Blackwood where the main bus station can be found. The nearest railway station is located in Ystrad Mynach, approximately 5 miles away, connecting the main Inter-City service throughout the UK. Cardiff International Airport is easily accessible by car within the hour.

Pontllanfraith has a small selection of shops, with Blackwood town centre being close by offering a wide range of high street banks and building societies, coupled with a variety of shops and a good library. The whole area boasts an excellent selection of local authority museums. Health needs are well catered for by a variety of local surgeries, dental practices and opticians. The main hospital is The Royal Gwent in Newport which operates a 24 hour accident and emergency service.

Pontllanfraith Primary School is within walking distance of the site and there are comprehensive schools in both Pontllanfraith and Oakdale.
