Oldbury has a small shopping centre with a large supermarket and the essential small holder shops and a post office and banks. There are also a small selection of clothing stores and electrical goods stores. Just a mile or so away in West Bromwich there is a larger shopping centre with a selection of high street stores.

For a full day's retail therapy try the Waterfront & Merryhill Shopping Centre, Brierley Hill, approximately 3 miles away from Oldbury. Offering over 200 high street brands and 10,000 free car parking spaces you can shop till you drop and then lunch in one of the bars or restaurants on the waterfront and watch the world go by.

Oldbury is well served in education with a good selection of Primary Schools and no less than four well established and high acheiving high schools. For higher education Sandwell College is well in the vicinity, which not only teaches GCSE and A Levels but a wide selection of trade courses also. Courses are available to school leavers and adults alike. Just into Birmingham City and surrounding areas you will find many other colleges in and around the City including City College, Birmingham which offer degree courses.

Transport

Rowley Regis train station is less than 2 miles away offering convenient through trains to surrounding towns, Birmingham and London. Sandwell and Dudley is a railway station on the West Coast Main Line, situated between Oldbury and West Bromwich, West Midlands, which runs the local services between Birmingham New Street and Wolverhampton. There is also a reliable bus service for commuters in and out of Oldbury into the nearby city and towns. The M5 motorway is approximately 2 miles away giving convenient access to the Midlands motorway network.
