Education

There are six high schools in Chorley, though children from Buckshaw are now also attending school in Leyland. Runshaw College on Euxton Lane is the closest sixth form college to the development. There is no shortage of primary schools in the area, and higher education students at UCLAN in Preston can easily commute from Sandy Lane. A new primary school is included in the development.

Located in the modern suburban village of Buckshaw, Sandy Lane is just minutes from Chorley and Leyland town centres. The newly opened Buckshaw Parkway train station is a short walk away. Located on the Blackpool North to Manchester Airport line, it offers regular services to Chorley (three minutes) and Manchester (40 minutes). Leyland station on the Liverpool to Preston line is less than a kilometre away. 

Major roads which run close by include the M6, M61, A6 and A49. Manchester and Liverpool are within commutable distances, as are the nearby towns of Preston, Blackburn and Wigan. Local bus services link Buckshaw to Chorley, Leyland and Preston.

Manchester Airport, the largest international airport in the north of England, is easily reached by road or train and offers a range of flights across the world as well as domestic connections to London, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
