Location

Situated in the picturesque Wiltshire village of Downton, located 7 miles south of Salisbury along the River Avon.  The Glades sits North West of the New Forest.  Wide open spaces, tranquil village life surrounded by lush green fields, you can experience the pleasures of an English country lifestyle. 

Recreation and Leisure

Just a stone's throw from the River Avon and close to the New Forest, Downton is blessed with some of Englands most beautiful landscapes.  Further afield, few Cities in England can boast the eclectic blend on offer in Salisbury.  As well as the famous Cathedral, you can pay a visit to Stonehenge. You'll also find stately homes, beautiful gardens, lively farm parks and award winning museums, plus a diverse range of high street and boutique shops.

Transport 

There is a bus service that connect Downton to the famous Cathedral City.  Downton itself is on the A338 which can be used to access Bournemouth and the delightful Dorset coast to the South West. the A338 also links to the M27 motorway, Southampton and further afield to London.

Amenities

The village is served by four churches and a number of popular local businesses.  Children benefit from two academically successful schools, Downton Primary and the Trafalgar School at Downton.

Also the famous May Cuckoo Fair has been running for over a quarter of a Century and attracts up to 20,000 people to the village annually.
