Transport

Our Foxlow Manor development is well located for commuters as Longton lies directly on the A59, which is the main road connecting Liverpool to Preston - though fortunately, a by-pass road takes the majority of traffic, ensuring that the development itself remains quiet. Due to the A59, Preston city centre is just five miles away and Liverpool is just over 25 miles away, making commuting to either destination extremely easy. To go further afield, the main motorway routes of the M6, M61 and M65 are all just a few miles away. Preston Railway Station on Fishergate links with a number of key cities and transport conurbations by high speed rail, including Manchester, Leeds and London – the latter of which can be reached in just two hours. The nearest airport is Blackpool Airport, around 30 minutes away by car, followed by Manchester Airport, which is just over an hour's drive away via the M6 and M56.

For day trips with the family, head to the beaches of Southport or Blackpool, or visit the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. There are also great options very close to your new home, including Longton Brickcroft Nature Reserve and the Martin Mere Wildlife and Wetland Centre. The Leisure Lakes at Tarleton are also a great family favourite, with jet-skiing and paintballing just two of the activities on offer. If you’re interested in sports, then there is also a wide choice. Golf fans will love Ashton and Lea Golf Club and Blackpool Road and there is also the Fulwood Driving Range on Lightfoot Lane.

Shopping

As well as the local supermarkets, there is an excellent market in Preston, which is particularly well known and has a historic charter. There are also two large shopping centres, Fishergate and St George's, which offer all the big names under a single roof, as well as a large shopping centre in Preston itself.
