Retail therapy is a pleasure in Chorley, thanks to the excellent mix of high street and independent shops, and the main hub of facilities is located in Chorley Town Centre, which was recently redeveloped. There is also a well-known market – Chorley Market – on Market Place, and this truly is a local landmark, having been run for over 200 years. Located off Dunham Drive at Whittle-Le-Woods in Chorley, Lucas Green is a hugely popular place. Fortunately, Chorley is within commuting distance of a number of leading towns and cities in the North West, including Wigan (13 km), Blackburn (18 km), Bolton (19km), Preston (19km) and Manchester (31km). The area is well served with major arterial roads and has good access to the motorway system, which makes commuting quick and easy by car. Many people in Chorley also travel regularly to Leeds, Liverpool and London for work and pleasure, as well as surrounding commuter towns and cities. Local key roads include the A6, the M61 (junctions 6 and 8 serve the town) and the M6, which connects to Chorley via junction 27. 

Chorley railway station is on Chapel Street, with direct services to all the main surrounding cities and towns. Manchester Airport is also easily accessible, either by road or train. There is a large bus hub at the Chorley Interchange in the town, with services provided by all local providers. There are also some very attractive waterways, including the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, which runs parallel to the town. You will find several locks and marinas to explore and enjoy.
