"House building is an industry which fascinates me. It's an industry that puts you in direct contact with your customer, presenting you with an opportunity to produce a home for them with the challenge of meeting and exceeding their expectations, through the quality of product that you build and the levels of service you offer. House building, like many types of construction is an industry which presents new challenges and goals on a day to day basis. Every day is different, you never know quite what to expect.

I have been involved with the Debut range since I joined Redrow over two years ago. I worked in Redrow's product development department within a team responsible for developing the Debut concept through to a finished product. The role involved researching new materials and working with manufacturers to develop products that were suitable for use within the Debut range and preparing each new Debut site for assessment under EcoHomes criteria. Working on a project like Debut has taught me the importance of continually re-evaluating your product range to ensure it is versatile enough to meet changing market conditions and satisfy evolving customer expectations. It is reassuring that it is possible to raise the benchmark and successfully launch a new concept into an industry which is renowned for being slow to change.

It is very satisfying to visit one of Redrow's Debut sites and see an aspect that I helped to develop, now being successfully used by our customers. I have recently transferred from Redrow's Graduate scheme where I worked in product development to site management. This is giving me the opportunity to focus on the practical aspect of house building and embrace new personal challenges like managing the trades on site to successfully build and finish houses to the high standard expected. My future ambitions include project managing one of Redrow's flagship developments or a multimillion pound 'in the city' development. Projects like 'Altolusso' in Cardiff or 'Vie' in Manchester excite me, imagine the sense of achievement being able to stand back knowing you've been involved in managing the project."
