House builder Redrow is gearing up to launch two brand new homes developments in South Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire with a projected finished value of around £52million.

The schemes in Doncaster and Barton-upon-Humber will build on Redrow’s reputation and track record for delivering quality new developments that cater for people on all rungs of the property ladder.

In Doncaster, Redrow has acquired an 11-acre plot on Amersall Road in Scawthorpe. The land was formerly part of an industrial park, nestled among residential properties. However, as occupiers have sought more modern sites on the edge of town and close to the motorway network, the land became suitable for redevelopment.

Barry Harvey, Redrow’s Northern regional chairman, says: “Doncaster is on the up and our development will bring a new residential element to the town. The site is brownfield, in line with our stance to develop at least 70% of their ventures on previously used land.”

Redrow is currently awaiting detailed planning consent for the site and proposes to build 167 homes, in a wide-ranging mix of properties from its portfolio, comprising everything from one-bedroom apartments to four-bedroom detached family homes.

In Barton-upon-Humber, Redrow has also acquired a 10-acre plot on Toffs Road. The former agricultural land will be the new home for 160 properties, and the house builder intends to build everything from two-bedroom mews to four-bedroom detached family homes.

Again, outline planning consent has been granted and a detailed application is currently awaiting approval.

Both developments will be undertaken by Wakefield-based Redrow Homes (Yorkshire).

Barry continues: “These two sites are key acquisitions for Redrow and are a sign of our commitment to growing our business in this part of the country. Our company has built a solid reputation in the region, with many developments complete or in progress, however both Doncaster and Barton-upon-Humber are new ground for us, and we are extremely excited about the prospect of building in these areas.”

Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) is a subsidiary of Redrow plc, which builds up to 5,000 new homes each year across the UK. The Yorkshire operation has active sites in Barnsley, Bingley, Bridlington, Dodworth, Grimsby, Leeds, Malton, Selby and Sheffield.
