Weston-super-Mare has a distinguished history as the premier English seaside location for generations of visitors from Birmingham.

Offering scenic walks and beach activities, the Somerset town is a stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the UK’s second largest city. So it’s little wonder that every summer hundreds of holiday-makers journey south from Birmingham to be beside the seaside.

Company director Abdoul Noorbaccus is one such Birmingham resident who fell for the charms of Weston-super-mare. So much so that when he bought an apartment at Redrow’s Knightstone Island development as an investment to rent out, he decided to also buy one as a holiday home for himself, his partner and their family.

He said: “Weston-super-mare is only about an hour-and-a-half drive from Birmingham yet the two couldn’t be further apart in terms of environment. It’s the perfect place to escape to when we want to get away from the city.

“There are many apartments in Weston-super-mare but none of them can boast the location of Knightstone Island. It’s unique because it’s surrounded by water.”

He plans to use the new apartment as a getaway at least one a month when it is ready and will enjoy relaxing, walking, dining and shopping in the Somerset resort.

Knightstone Island is a development of 87 one, two and three-bedroom apartments within three renovated Grade II listed Victorian buildings and two stunning new contemporary buildings.

Current availability starts from £150,000 for a one-bedroom refurbished apartment to £400,000 for a three-bedroom new build apartment with sea views and a balcony, with plenty to choose from in between. First legal completions are due in 2007.
