Redrow’s back in Bury
Wed, Apr 19th 2006, 11:00
Housebuilder Redrow is adding a slice of contemporary living to Bury St Edmunds with the launch of its latest apartment venture, Forum.
This exciting new move from award-winning developer Redrow will feature 84 luxury one and two-bedroom apartments, providing the perfect home for purchasers wanting a modern apartment in a town steeped in history, yet less than two hours from the country’s capital.
The scheme will be officially launched from the offices of Connells Estate Agents on April 22nd/23rd, when home buyers will be able to view plans for the apartments and reserve their plot.
Caron Hutchins, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern), says: “Forum marks a return to Bury for Redrow. Our previous development of traditional family homes was hugely successful and we are delighted to be building in the area again. However Forum will be completely different to anything we’ve done before, and will boast a stunning and contemporary design befitting an apartment building of this calibre.”
Forum is located on Station Road and will comprise three uniquely designed two and three-storey buildings arranged around a large landscaped courtyard garden, which will also become home to various pieces of public art.
The buildings themselves could also be considered modern art with a wealth of rich materials being used to create a stunning exterior, such as glass stairwells, aluminium window frames and fascia cladding all complementing perfectly with the blend of cedar boarding wood cladding and silver grey render.
Forum’s other main characteristic is its superb location – opposite the town’s main train station – providing Bury with an eye-catching gateway to the city.
Caron continues: “Being opposite the train station means professionals will have a reasonably easy journey to work to places such as Ipswich and Cambridge, with London Liverpool Street just over one hour and 40 minutes away. We are really pleased with the interest we have already had for Forum and believe that once the launch gets underway homehunters will be snapping up the apartments.
Home buyers will also be pleased to know that Forum provides excellent security with a gated entrance and under-croft parking. included within the £115,000 starting price for a one-bedroom apartment or from £148,000 for a two-bedroom property.
The development is just half a mile from Bury town centre, which offers a wealth of restaurants, bars and shopping as well as a theatre and an annual arts festival.
Redrow Homes (Eastern) is the Basildon-based subsidiary of Redrow plc, which builds around 5,000 new homes each year. The Eastern operation is currently building in Kent, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire.
