Local children were encouraged to use their imagination in keeping with the Halloween subject and an impressive collection of paintings showing all things ghostly and scary were put forward for the winning prize.

After much deliberation the top ‘artist’ award was awarded to Rebecca Shaw for her Halloween design depicting wicked witches and lighted pumpkins.

It was a tough one to judge but we decided in the end that Rebecca’s picture was so good that she deserved the winning prize.”

Top prize for the competition was gift vouchers for a toy store.
