From Kesgrave to Holland with Redrow
Mon, Nov 26th 2007, 12:00
A donation from Redrow Homes, building locally on Wilkinson Drive, Kesgrave, along with other key sponsors, means that the Under 15s team are one step closer to playing in the tournament which takes place at the end of March.
Team manager Lee Clements says: “The tournament is all about team bonding and it’s a great experience for everyone involved. It’s something you never forget. I played in it when I was younger and I still remember it like it was yesterday. Without the generous donations of sponsors like Redrow we would not be able to go to Holland so we must extend our thanks to all those that have made it possible.”
The club, which operates 10 teams from the Under 8 to Under 15 level, is hoping that the tournament will be such a success this year that in future years more players will be able to take part.
The Holland Easter Classic will bring together between 250 and 300 teams from 12 countries. Spread over six different locations in Haarlem, Heemstede, Zwanenburg, Velsen, IJmuiden and Amsterdam, teams will fight it out to become the champions of their age group.
Beryl Williams, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern) says: “Redrow strives to become involved in the communities in which it builds and we were only too happy to help Kesgrave Town’s Under 15s in their quest to play in Holland – and become champions! I wish them a lot of success for the tournament and for their current domestic season.
“It’s support for local initiatives like this that has helped Redrow nationally to retain its Business In The Community PerCent Standard for four consecutive years, for giving at least one percent of its pre-tax profits back to the community in cash donations, sponsorship, employee time or gifts in kind.”
Redrow is currently building three, four and five-bedroom homes in Kesgrave at Oakside Park. For further information call 01473 612169 or log on to http://www.redrow.co.uk/developments/view/97.
