Creating a stunning new show home is child's play

Wed, Mar 5th 2008, 17:00

The award-winning house builder will officially open the doors to three new show homes, the ‘Hambledon’, ‘Gorsley’ and ‘Farnell’, at Awel-y-Mor, on Saturday (March 8), with help from a special group of children from the Joshua Foundation cancer charity, who have contributed to the interior scheme by entering a competition to design a bedroom.

Visiting homebuyers can enjoy refreshments on site and chat to Redrow’s experienced sales advisors as well as taking a tour around the three-storey four-bedroom Hambledon show home and viewing the bedroom which has been created using inspiration from the winning child’s design. Four other youngsters, named as runners up, have had their creative drawings transformed into artwork, which are also on display in the show home.
Rachael Davies, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), said: “The show home has a fabulous fresh and contemporary design and the children’s designs and artwork really gives it the feel of a welcoming family home. We are very grateful to them for coming up with such creative ideas.
“The property has been given a professional makeover by our chosen interior design company, Connections in Design, who use colour, imagination and flair to inspire customers and create the impression of a lived-in family home.
“The designers used a gorgeous colour scheme of white with accents of vibrant pink and orange to create a modern but practical home.

Contemporary furniture in the living area has been combined with glass and chrome features and they really stand out against the bright pink accent wall.
“In the bedrooms they have combined sumptuous soft furnishing with further bright flashes of colour in the accessories and glossy white furniture.

Bedroom four was transformed using the winning child’s design and has the same pink and orange theme, with beautiful butterfly motifs over the furniture and white bunk beds. The whole house looks great and we can’t wait to open the doors next weekend for people to come and take a look around.”
Awel-y-Mor, will eventually comprise 115 new homes in Heol Las, Birchgrove – just moments from Swansea city with its impressive retail experience, bars, restaurants, cinema Grand Theatre and quaint maritime quarter.

Set in a tranquil location the development offers easy access to Swansea Marina and the well known beauty spots of the Mumbles and Gower coastline.

The development currently has a range of three and four bedroom properties available with prices from  £179,995.

To provide added comfort and reassurance to prospective homebuyers, award winning Redrow Homes has introduced a ‘house price protection’ promise – helping to protect the value of its customers’ new homes for up to three years.

It is one of the measures under the umbrella of ‘re:assure from Redrow’, which are all designed to give home buyers confidence and to help get them moving in the current housing market.

As well as helping to protect the value of their new home, Redrow’s ‘re:assure’ package includes measures to help people sell their current property at the best possible price, or could include help with the monthly mortgage repayments for the first year or two.

The first homes at Awel-y-Mor should be ready to move into this spring. For further details, join Redrow for the official show home opening this Saturday, March 8, at 11am.
