Fireworks to light up Knightstone Island

Mon, Mar 20th 2006, 11:00

A fantastic fireworks display to celebrate the runaway success of Redrow’s Knightstone Island development will take place this Friday (March 24).

The festivities will begin at 4pm and as an added bonus Redrow is treating visitors to champagne and canapés which they can enjoy as they view the spectacular fireworks.

Sandra Hughes, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “Since the launch of this popular and stylish development we have sold over 50 apartments and we feel that this is cause for celebration. I would encourage anyone in the market for a new apartment to come along on Friday to visit the marketing suite and witness what promises to be a terrific display of fireworks and stylish apartments in this unique setting.

“We know how important Knightstone Island is to the Weston community as a landmark and historical site, so we’re delighted that the reaction to the island’s restoration into new homes has been so positive. We now hope to build on that good feeling and create a great place to live at this excellent venture.”

Knightstone Island will eventually feature 87 apartments and represents a flagship development for Redrow.

The project will see the renovation and conversion of three Grade II listed buildings – the Pavilion Theatre, Dr Fox’s Bath House and the Edwardian Swimming Baths – into apartments, duplexes and penthouses and the creation of two stunning contemporary apartment buildings.

As well as providing a further catalyst for Weston’s regeneration, creating jobs and boosting the local economy, when completed Knightstone Island will once again be open to the public for promenade walks with improved landscaping, street furniture, public art, plus cafés and a restaurant are planned.

The restoration and transformation of the island is currently underway and it is anticipated that the venture will be completed by the summer of 2007.

Weston retains much of its seaside charm from its heyday with beautiful limestone houses, parks, piers and sands, plus it isn’t far from the stunning surrounding countryside of North Somerset. Located just 25 miles from Bristol, it takes about 40 minutes along the M5 to reach and is about two hours drive from Birmingham.

All are welcome along on Friday (March 24) from 4pm onwards to sip champagne and enjoy the fireworks. For more information on becoming a part of this fabulous island living telephone 01934 417 447, text ‘Knightstone’ to 07766 40 41 42.
