'Zesty' revamp for Rdrow show home in Ystrad Mynach

Wed, Mar 26th 2008, 12:00

Redrow’s chosen interior designers have been let loose on the show home at Cwm Calon and came up with a fresh and ‘zingy’ theme to update the previous scheme.

Luly Brice, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales) said: “We decided it was about time our ‘Ribble’ show home had a make-over and the designers have done a fabulous job breathing new life into the décor.
“The zesty orange and rich aubergine colours, combined with sophisticated glass and dark wood furniture, has created a fun yet stylish contemporary scheme.”

In the living area, Redrow’s chosen interior design company, Connections in Design, have ensured the strong accent colours provide just a touch of vibrancy with a feature wall and textured fabric covers. A large chrome light fitting gives a chic and modern feel to the room.

Sophistication is the watch word in the master bedroom, with hints of deep amethyst in the soft furnishings and a mirrored dressing table, while the second bedroom has been given a glamorous make-over fit for the most stylish of teenage girls, with high-fashion accessories and Marilyn Monroe artwork.

Bedroom three has been given ‘guest room’ status and delicious splashes of colour set off a striking feature wall, with a large wall-covering to match the sumptuous cushions on the bed. The fourth bedroom has been turned into a ‘grown-up’ study with dark finish furniture.

Luly added: “The show home is a great tool for buyers who want to imagine themselves living in a property. It shows the potential a brand new home has as a ‘blank canvas’ for new owners to put their style stamp on.”

Cwm Calon benefits from the immediate amenities of Ystrad Mynach and the town of Caerphilly is close by, while for commuters Cardiff is just a 14 mile journey south by car or 20 minutes by train from the nearby railway station.
Redrow’s development is part of a wider regeneration of the site, which will eventually also see the refurbishment of the colliery’s power hall, winding towers, ancillary buildings and two lakes.

Available properties include one-bedroom apartments from just £99,995, three-bedroom houses from £179,995, a choice of four-bedroom terraced, semi and detached houses from £214,995 and a five-bedroom detached home at £309,995.

A new bi-lingual primary school is also under construction and due to open autumn 2008, making the development a great choice for families.
The show home opening weekend takes place on Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6 when visitors can take a tour around the property between 10am and 5pm while enjoying nibbles and refreshments. For more information call 0845 676 0300 or log on to: www.redrow.co.uk/developments/view/55.
