Mixed menu for launch of stunning rural show home in Perthshire

Fri, May 2nd 2008, 10:00

Homehunters can experience a taste of upmarket rural life with the launch of a stunning new show home at Redrow’s Graemeslea development in Aberuthven, Perthshire.

Meet John Quigley, celebrity chef, taste fine wines, see falconry displays and try your hand at archery, as these will all be on the menu when Redrow opens the doors to its four-bedroom ‘Wareham’ detached villa, which follows a classic theme with a hint of traditional living.

The show home will be unveiled on Saturday 10 May and visitors will get a real feel for the countryside that surrounds it, with a falconry display and the chance to have a go at archery.

Adding to the occasion, celebrity chef John Quigley, former chef to rock stars like Tina Turner, Bryan Adams and Paul McCartney, will be taking a break from his contemporary Glasgow restaurant, Red Onion, to deliver some traditional home-cooked Scottish food from the show home’s fantastic kitchen.

Sales director for Redrow Homes (Scotland), Diana Newton says: “We’re delighted to have this wonderful new show home ready to view, because when it comes to buying a property, being able to see it ‘in the flesh’ can really help you make that all important decision.

“Graemeslea is a beautiful development of stunning luxury homes, perfectly set among the breathtaking scenery of the Perthshire countryside. The show home launch is the perfect opportunity to highlight the benefits of country living and to show off Graemeslea’s fantastic location.”

The Wareham show home has been professionally designed and decorated to a style and standard befitting its exclusive location and the likely lifestyle of its owners. It displays a country feel with a contemporary twist – and a touch of glamour. In a nod to Graemeslea’s location within a popular golfing region, a large black and white golf mural creates a talking point in one of the bedrooms!

Diana added: “This stunning show home really does capture the essence of Graemeslea, which offers luxury living in a perfect location.”

Redrow’s venture is an exclusive development of 33 stunning homes, set in the quaint rural village of Aberuthven offering panoramic views of the foothills of the Highlands.

Homebuyers can enjoy long meandering walks in the glorious countryside and for those who are a bit more adventurous, available activities in the area include horse riding, fishing, falconry and hill walking. And Perthshire is a golfers’ paradise, home to a wide selection of clubs, offering courses suitable for everyone from beginners to skilled professionals, including the prestigious Gleneagles.

The attractive town of Auchterarder is just a short drive from the development offering excellent local amenities and a mile-and-a-half long high street, boasting a range of individual shops, selling items from antiques to toys. Redrow will be running free transport between Auchterarder town centre and Graemeslea for the show home launch.

Despite Graemeslea’s idyllic location the A9 is easily accessible from the site and there is convenient access to the M90 and M9. It is only a 15 minute drive to Perth and just under an hour’s drive from the bustling, vibrant heart of both Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The show home launch event, with falconry, archery, cooking displays by John Quigley and wine-tasting, will take place between 12 noon and 4pm on Saturday 10 May.  A specially laid-on vintage car will transport visitors between Auchterarder high street and Graemeslea at regular intervals.

Thereafter the show home will be open from 10am to 5.30pm, Thursday to Monday inclusive.
