Redrow joins in community celebration of Bristol's culture and talent

Bristol's two-day community festival of art, music, film and theatre has received a massive boost from one of the city’s leading housebuilders.
Award-winning Redrow Homes has pledged £2,450 to support the fun-packed festival later this year.
The Bristol-based housebuilder, which recently launched two new developments in Filton and Stoke Gifford, is sponsoring the Bristol Festival, as part of its on-going commitment to community initiatives in the areas where it builds.
The two-day city wide event on September 20 and 21, will showcase south west talent, with a main outdoor hub featuring stages, entertainment, food and family fun centred around Waterfront Square and the Amphitheatre.
Debby Pavitt, sales director for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “We are always keen to get involved in the communities in which we build and nowhere is this truer than in Bristol, where we are creating a whole new village of ‘greener’ homes at our new Cheswick development in Filton.
“Since we are in the business of creating new communities we thought what better way to get involved than to sponsor a celebration of Bristol’s amazing community spirit, which also showcases the best of local talent.
“We recently launched the first phase of homes at Cheswick, named Tallsticks, which will reach level three on the Government’s Code for Sustainable Homes, two years ahead of national targets. We also have family homes for sale at The Lawns, in Stoke Gifford.”
Poppy Stephenson, of the Bristol Festival Community Group, said: “We are thrilled to have Redrow Homes on board. It is the support of dedicated businesses like this that makes our community project possible. Without their assistance we wouldn’t be able to plan the fantastic range of activities and showcase of Southwest talent that will be presented at the Bristol Festival in September.”
Redrow’s commitment to communities across the UK has earned it the BITC ‘PerCent Standard’ for four consecutive years, a benchmark that recognises firms who give at least 1% of their pre-tax profits back to the community as donations, sponsorship, employee time or gifts in kind.
