Banish the housing blues with a brand new home in Milton Keynes

Tue, Jun 3rd 2008, 15:30

Contrary to media headlines, now could be the best time to buy a brand new home - with interest rates falling, UK employment at record high levels and the housing market still strongly under-pinned by supply and demand economics.

That’s the view of Daniel Mumford, director of Northampton-based financial advisers Grange Mortgages, who are available to provide mortgage advice to customers at Redrow’s new developments in and around Milton Keynes.
He adds: “The perception currently for many people is that they won’t be able to get a mortgage so they shouldn’t bother trying, but this is not necessarily the case. Yes, it may be a little more difficult than previously but there are mortgage lenders who want to lend and we can help people find the product that’s right for them.”

New homes like those at Broughton Manor in Broughton, Redrow @ Bletchley Park in Bletchley and, a little further afield, Redrow @ The Wharf in Leighton Buzzard  have the edge over their older second hand counterparts in the current climate, not least because of the flexible choice of incentives that Redrow has to offer.

Mary Timlin, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands) said: “The lack of 100% mortgage products from all the main lenders gives us an advantage over most private sellers, as we may be able to pay a customer’s 5% deposit.

“It’s just one of the offerings in our ‘re:assure’ package of help, advice and incentives, which are designed to make buying a new home as easy as possible for all of our customers – from the moment of first enquiry right through to after they’ve moved in.

“Other options include helping with people’s mortgage repayments for up to two years, covering other moving costs like stamp duty and legal fees, or, for those with an existing home to sell, an assisted move scheme or even part-exchange.”

The three developments in Broughton, Bletchley and Leighton Buzzard have something for everyone from apartments to family homes.

For those looking for an elegant home, set close to serene countryside, yet within reach of a range of amenities, Redrow @ Broughton Manor would be ideal.

Current availibilty includes four-bedroom houses from £275,995 and stunning five-bedroom detached houses, complete with a detached double garage, from £459,995. The homes are all conveniently fitted with an integrated fridge freezer, oven, hob and cooker hood, plus fitted wardrobes, light fittings, carpets and luxurious oak doors. Larger properties also include a dishwasher and granite worktop.

Situated within easy reach of central Milton Keynes and the M1, Redrow @ Broughton Manor enjoys an ideal location, perfect for exploring the local area, or commuting to work. London Euston is only a 37 minute journey from nearby Milton Keynes train station.

The apartments at Bletchley Park have two ample double bedrooms and two bathrooms, making them perfect for downsizers who don’t want to compromise on space, as well as for young friends sharing in a bid to get onto the property ladder for the very first time.

Located within the scenic Buckinghamshire town of Bletchley but conveniently close to the train station, a mere stone’s throw from Milton Keynes, and with London and Birmingham both only an hour away – it’s a commuter’s paradise where home owners can enjoy the best of both city and suburban life.

Stylish two-bedroom apartments, with a single parking space are currently available at Redrow @ Bletchley Park from £173,995.

Redrow @ The Wharf enjoys a great location next to the Grand Union Canal, within walking distance of Leighton Buzzard town centre - which in turn is just 35 minutes from London Euston by train, making it another great spot for commuters.

Current prices at The Wharf are from £155,995 to £174,995.
