High flying couple enjoy happy landing in Aberuthven

Redrow’s stunning Graemeslea development in Aberuthven, Perthshire, has really taken off with home buyers and airline pilot and flight service manager Blair and Morag Watson are no exception.

The couple were among the first to buy at this impressive venture, which features a selection of stylish and spacious detached four and five-bedroom villas, and a handful of charming three-bedroom ‘Hopetoun’ properties.

Blair, 41, and Morag, 40, who spend most of their time travelling with work, are both from Scotland originally and their previous home was in St Andrew’s.

They were attracted to Graemeslea because of its location - surrounded by countryside yet within easy reach of the vibrant cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The exclusive development of 33 homes is set in the quaint rural village of Aberuthven offering panoramic views of the foothills of the Highlands.
And the captivating three-bedroom Hopetoun was the ideal property for them to downsize to and to put their feet up in when they are on solid ground.

Morag says: “We like this area, it’s beautiful and very peaceful and there are good links to Glasgow and Edinburgh Airport, which is important for us. It is just so quiet here, so it is nice to come back to.

“Also it is a really lovely house, which has a New England look to it, and it is finished really well.

“Our previous homes have been big houses but we were looking for something smaller, yet still spacious.  This house is perfect for when we are in Scotland.”

Blair and Morag opted for a house rather than the more traditional choice of downsizers, an apartment, as Blair has two sons, Gregor, 12, and Mackenzie, 13, who regularly stay with them.

“It is important for us to have a home in Scotland for Gregor and Mackenzie to come to”, says Morag.

Graemeslea’s rural location presents the opportunity to enjoy long meandering walks in the glorious countryside and for those who are a bit more adventurous, available activities include horse riding, fishing, falconry and hill walking. And Perthshire is a golfers’ paradise, home to a wide selection of clubs, offering courses suitable for everyone from beginners to skilled professionals, including the prestigious Gleneagles.

Closer to home, the attractive town of Auchterarder is just a short drive from Redrow’s development, offering excellent local amenities and a mile-and-a-half long high street, boasting a range of individual shops, selling items from antiques to toys.

Despite Graemeslea’s idyllic location, the A9 is easily accessible from the site and there is good access to the M90 and M9 motorways. It is only a 15 minute drive to Perth and just under an hour’s drive from the bustling, vibrant heart of Glasgow and Edinburgh.

A choice of four and five-bedroom homes are currently available at Graemeslea priced from £325,000 to £409,000. But buyers will have to act quickly to snap up a chic three-bedroom Hopetown property as just one remains at £188,000.
