Newlyweds Kevin and Karen O’Donnell are looking forward to starting their new life together in a new home at Redrow’s Heather Lea development, in Lanark.

Kevin, 28, a sales engineer, and Karen, 34, a nursery manager, are currently living in a one-bedroom apartment in Shawlands but will soon be picking up the keys to a three-bedroom detached house at Heather Lea.

“Potentially you can end up forking out for surveys on several different properties and not having your offer accepted on any of them, but buying a new home takes away this problem - plus you don’t have the stress and worry that comes with being in a chain.

“Of course there are other benefits too, like the fact the heating system is brand new so it will be more efficient and you can move straight in without having to carry out renovations or repairs.”

Heather Lea is the perfect rural retreat for commuters as it offers the best of both worlds.
