Advice and help on hand for Wiltshire homebuyers this weekend
Wed, Aug 6th 2008, 11:15
Visitors to Redrow’s picturesque Lakelands Edge development, in Westbury, this weekend (Aug 16/17) will find advice on hand from a team of experts to show them how a move to a new home could be possible.
The award-wining housebuilder will have mortgage advisors and staff on hand to talk would-be homebuyers through a range of tailor-made incentives that could help get them moving in the current climate.
It may suit one customer to part-exchange their existing home, taking away the worry of finding a buyer; or another customer may opt to purchase using Redrow’s new ‘easi-buy’ scheme, which enables buyer to own 100% of their new home now while only initially paying out 85% of the full price.
Denise Turner, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “We do not believe in a ‘one size fits all’ approach and understand it’s important to talk each customer through their options on a one-to-one basis so we can meet their individual needs.
“Part-exchange and easi-buy are just two of the incentives we offer, but we may be able to help with you mortgage repayments for the first two years, or pay you stamp duty, legal fees and other costs associated with moving.”
Part-exchange is the ideal option for people who want to move right away, but haven’t found a buyer for their current house. It also removes the threat of a chain collapsing or the increasing practice of ‘gazundering’, where a buyer waits until the last minute of a sale before lowering their offer price.
If part-exchange is not an option, buyers may like to consider Redrow’s easi-buy, which is proving popular with first-time buyers as well as those trading up the property ladder who may wish to gradually step up their overheads. It allows customers to own 100% of their home today whilst deferring a significant percentage of the cost to a time when they have more funds available.
Using Redrow easi-buy, a stylish three-bedroom ‘Lambourne’ home at Lakelands Edge that would normally cost £189,995 can currently be snapped up for just £161,495 – that’s 85% of the full price - with the balance not having to be paid for 10 years. And there’s more good news in that the outstanding cost will reduce on a sliding scale if they repay it within the first three years.
Redrow’s new offer is subject to terms and conditions. The deferred element is paid back at market value at the time of payment, which could go down as well as up.
Set between two lakes and a conservation area, the superb homes at Lakelands Edge are just 12 miles from the historic city of Bath and a 90-minute rail commute to London. Also, the surrounding towns offer many wonderful country pubs providing excellent restaurant facilities, canal walks, golf, sailing and fishing.
Properties available include two-bedroom apartments from £133,000, three-bedroom homes from £189,995 and four-bedroom homes from £245,000.
