Advantages of new shine through

Fri, Feb 17th 2006, 11:00

Out with the old and in with the new should be the motto of all visitors to Redrow’s Heron’s Reach development in Trowbridge. In a recent poll on the Redrow website, 49% of visitors said they would choose a new home over a second hand property for its energy efficiency and easy to maintain qualities

Almost a third of those polled also revealed that having a blank canvas to create their own style of home is another major factor in wishing to buy a brand new home.

Rachael Baillie, sales director for Redrow Homes (South West), said: “This recent web poll is yet another indication that today’s home hunters are very much aware of the benefits they will enjoy if they purchase a brand new property.

“With the average household energy bill on the increase I think people are starting to realise that having a modern, better insulated new home will bring them massive savings in the long term. I would encourage all home hunters to come along to our marketing suite at Herons Reach to see for themselves the excellent energy efficient homes on offer.”

According to the New Homes Marketing Board, which is promoting national New Homes Week from March 20th – 26th, brand new homes are on average, four times more energy efficient that older buildings which means lower running costs and reduced pollution from greenhouse gases; while water efficient fittings in new homes are designed to minimise domestic water consumption.

New homes are also inherently safer and more secure than older properties, as developers use fire resistant materials and fit circuit breakers and smoke alarms as standard. The modern locks fitted to new homes often mean lower insurance premiums and the comprehensive 10-year Buildmark warranty offered by the National House Building Council provides peace of mind for customers about the quality of their new home.

Herons Reach, close to Staverton Marina, in Trowbridge, features a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes on the outskirts of the town and the terrific variety means that there is a home to suit all tastes at this stylish development.

Current availability ranges from three, four and five-bedroom homes with prices starting at £164,995 up to £329,995.

Being positioned on the edge of town means the development is easily accessible, providing a wide range of attractions as well as transport links to the surrounding areas of Wiltshire, Bath, Chippenham and Bristol for commuters and day trippers.

The nearby Kennet and Avon canal, which has been awarded the Waterway Renaissance Award, also makes for quiet and peaceful walks.

The development is open seven days a week from 10am – 5.30pm. For further information on the great range of houses at Herons Reach call 01225 762126.
