Seeing is believing

Nothing beats a fully furnished show home when it comes to visualising your next new home – so says more than half of the home buying public.

Computer generated images, fly-throughs and models all have their role to play, but the ‘touchy feely’ experience of a show home still wins hands down according to 53% of visitors to Redrow’s website.

Luckily for home buyers in Lanark, Redrow is opening a brand new fully furnished show home at its Heather Lea development this weekend (Feb 25th/26th).

The four-bedroom detached ‘Otter’ house design has been given a professional makeover by Bradley Carman, a member of Redrow’s in-house interior design team.

He says: “The colours I’ve used are a mix of dusty pinks and browns with soft biscuit undertones. These colours where around and about the high streets towards the back end of last year in the fashion world and have began to spread in to interiors this year.

“To add interest and depth, I’ve used textured fabrics wherever I can, including fur, leather and faux suede, plus bold patterns both in the curtains and in the wallpapers.”

Redrow has also fitted a four-bedroom detached Parrett with carpets, curtains and light-fittings to create a ‘walk though’ experience.

Anne Anderson, sales director for Redrow Homes (Scotland) is delighted with the result, saying: “We’ve already taken more than 20 reservations off-plan at Heather Lea but there’s no doubt that a sizable contingent of would-be purchasers need to ‘try before they buy’ and a fully furnished show home gives them that opportunity. From next weekend onwards they will have ample opportunity to satisfy their curiosity.”

Heather Lea, off Hyndford Road, will eventually feature 72 homes from Redrow’s new range. Current availability includes four-bedroom detached houses with en-suite and garage, from £199,500 to £212,500.

The development is positioned on the edge of Lanark, a picturesque and busy market town, within easy reach of the beautiful South Lanarkshire countryside. Attractions such as Lanark Loch, the falls of Clyde nature reserve and the World Heritage Site of New Lanark are all less than a mile away.

For city workers looking to escape the metropolis at the end of a busy working day the town offers good commuter links to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
