Live and let live

Tue, Jul 18th 2006, 11:00

It’s a case of live and let live for Zoe Barraclough who not only lives at The Boardwalk but also earns a living by letting out apartments there too.

Zoe moved from Surrey to Eastbourne to set up her own business and decided Redrow’s development at Sovereign Harbour was the ideal place to work, rest and play.

She explains: “I wanted to get away from the rat race of life in Surrey and set up my own business in Eastbourne. The quality of life is better here, the traffic isn’t as bad, the air is fresher and there’s not so much hustle and bustle. And there is nowhere better in Eastbourne than Sovereign Harbour.”

Since setting up Homes 4 Let in Eastbourne six months ago, Zoe has found letting apartments at The Boardwalk plain sailing.

“I have let eight apartments already, they are so easy to rent out. They are contemporary and funky, each one is unique and the views are fantastic. They are very private because they aren’t overlooked like many apartments and they are more spacious and luxurious than any other apartments within Sovereign Harbour.

“The apartments are attracting a range of people from young professionals to retired couples. They are proving particularly popular with people from outside the area who are looking to set up home in a more relaxing environment.”

Zoe added: “It’s like living abroad living at Sovereign Harbour. It offers everything you go to Europe for. It is relaxing, the views from the balconies are amazing, it’s close to the beach and there are some fantastic bars and restaurants. When the sun is shining I can lie on my carpet and get a suntan. When I came back from a week in Spain it wasn’t a disappointment to go home.”

The Boardwalk comprises 260 apartments arranged in six buildings with one, two, and three-bedroom homes, including 18 penthouses – six of which feature floor to ceiling windows, three bedrooms and an external spiral staircase leading up to the top of the stylish two-story terrace.

Prices at The Boardwalk start from just £149,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and from £199,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. A luxurious three-bedroom duplex penthouse has a £750,000 price tag.
