Celebrations times six

Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy the launch of six terrific new show homes at Cwm Calon in Ystrad Mynach, near Caerphilly.

The busy launch weekend at Redrow’s sought-after development was also attended by the Chairman of Caerphilly Council, Cllr. Harry Andrews, who officially opened this unique ‘show village’ at a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Even with the show homes only just open Redrow has already sold more than 60 new homes at Cwm Calon, many of them off-plan.

Redrow laid on a champagne reception for visitors and children’s entertainers were also in attendance to keep the little ones amused while giving adults some valuable time to explore the homes and lifestyle on offer at Cwm Calon.

Debby Pavitt, field sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), says: “We have enjoyed a highly successful launch for these truly terrific show homes that offer visitors the opportunity to see for themselves the great range of quality homes we have at Cwm Calon in Caerphilly. We welcomed hundreds of visitors to the development over the course of this special weekend and expect many of them to return in the coming weeks to reserve a brand new home.

“As an added bonus the show homes benefit from Redrow’s new Signature specification, which gives customers a whole host of options and choices most notably in kitchens and bathrooms and also flooring, fireplaces, wardrobes, fencing, paving and driveways. This will give customers great tips and ideas on how they can make their brand new Redrow home their own.”

This development has something to offer everyone from first time buyers to families trading up to a larger property and down-sizers coming out of a larger property for a modern, more manageable home.

Current prices at this highly desirable and popular venture start at £109,950 for a two-bedroom apartment and go to £304,950 for a five-bedroom home.

Redrow’s Cwm Calon development is part of a wider regeneration of the site, which will eventually also see the refurbishment of the colliery’s power hall, winding towers, ancillary buildings and two lakes.

The immediate amenities of Ystrad Mynach and the town of Caerphilly are close by and for commuters there are good road and rail links for the 14-mile journey south to Cardiff. Surrounding the colliery, Groundwork Caerphilly has already created a community park of some 180 hectares offering countryside walks.
