It’s up, up and away at Buckshaw Village in Chorley this weekend (September 9th/10th) when Redrow’s very own hot air balloon will be in town. Depending on weather conditions, visitors to the popular Worden Court development at Buckshaw Village will be able to have a tethered flight in the red and white balloon. Christine Aitken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire) says: "The hot air balloon is a great way for people to see the development and surrounding areas from a new, exciting angle. The view from the balloon will be fantastic!" For those who like to live more dangerously, Redrow is also running a competition to win a full one-hour flight in the balloon on Sunday 10th September (subject to weather conditions). "The competition will open on the 4th September and entrants need to pick up a form from our marketing suite at Buckshaw. The winner will be revealed in a prize draw on Saturday and must be prepared to take their flight the very next day," continues Christine. It’s been over five years since preparation work began on this flagship new homes development in Lancashire. Now a third of the way through, with circa 700 out of 2,000-plus homes built - Buckshaw Village is really taking shape. Prospective home-buyers who are lucky enough to enjoy a tethered flight will be able to get a bird’s eye view of all the features that have made Buckshaw Village so sought after. "It will be brilliant to see all the work that has occurred at Buckshaw including the village centre, cycle paths, Central Avenue and the Green Man from a different angle," adds Christine. As well as being able to see Buckshaw Village from a new angle, back on firm ground home-buyers will also be able to see the new show homes at the Worden Court development. The fully-furnished show home is the two-bedroom Eden, which has the rare luxury of having an en-suite bathroom to the master bedroom – not common in smaller houses. The Eden boasts a spacious living room, desirable open-plan kitchen/diner and cloakroom. The Eden also has a single garage and a sizable south facing garden. "As well as first time buyers and young couples, the Eden is perfect for two young people looking to share, especially with a bathroom each – there’ll never be a queue for the bathroom in the morning. This coupled with the view home which is a three-story, four-bedroom family home, the Ouse, shows the variety available at Worden Court," continues Christine. On the ground floor the Ouse offers a lounge, cloakroom, kitchen/dining room and all the practicalities of a utility room. The first floor has the master bedroom with en-suite, a second bedroom and family bathroom. On the top floor are the final two bedrooms, which can offer a great deal of flexibility to those savvy home buyers with plenty of imagination. The Eden and Ouse are currently priced at £152,992 and £236,995 respectively. Buckshaw Village is a visionary mixed-use scheme set in the heart of Lancashire, between the M6 and M61, near Chorley. Along with the new homes, there is an 80-acre business park called Matrix Park, with further commercial areas planned. There are also proposals for a district shopping centre, provision for a new railway station with park and ride facilities, a primary school, health centre and outdoor sports amenities To enter Redrow’s hot air balloon competition, call into the marketing suite at Buckshaw Village located just off Dawson Lane in Euxton, near Chorley.
