Award winner Johnathon Lowe has the best of both worlds as he can work, rest and play - and all in the same place.
The employee of the year for Redrow Homes (Lancashire) both lives and works at Lancashire’s flagship development, Buckshaw Village, near Chorley.
Johnathon takes pleasure in his job as a designer who creates the layouts of the properties at the Lancashire development. He explains: "I was really pleased to be awarded employee of the year. It’s nice to get recognition for the work I do and I really enjoy my job. Redrow is a brilliant company to work for."
The 25-year-old, who is originally from Astley, Greater Manchester, thinks that living where you work has a lot of advantages. He says: "It’s good to live a stone’s throw away from work. I don’t have to battle the traffic in the rush hour, it’s a nice area and it’s convenient. I don’t think that my living and working at Buckshaw was a factor in winning my award, but I’m never late in for work!"
Johnathon has been working for Redrow for nine years and came straight from school at the age of 16 to join the team at Lancashire. His recent work has included designing properties at the Worden Court @ Buckshaw Village and Worden Manor @ Buckshaw Village developments, as well as contributing to the layout for a planned new phase of first time buyer Debut properties, which is hoped to be as successful as the previous Debut homes.
Tony Stevens, managing director of Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: "Johnathon is fully deserving of this accolade for his skills in technical design, commitment and hard work. We all work hard to ensure that quality standards are met and to win the employee of the year award is great recognition for the best team members who go the extra mile in the job they do."
Buckshaw Village is a visionary mixed-use scheme set in the heart of Lancashire, between the M6 and M61, near Chorley. Along with around 2,500 new homes planned for the development, there is an 80-acre business park called Matrix Park, with further commercial areas planned. There are also proposals for a district shopping centre, provision for a new railway station with park and ride facilities, a primary school, health centre and outdoor sports amenities.
