Go up in the world at Coed Castell

Homebuyers in Brackla, Bridgend, can explore new heights with a selection of cleverly designed and versatile three-storey homes at Redrow’s Coed Castell development.

By going up, instead of out, Redrow has been able to offer purchasers more home for their money and has introduced a range of homes that appeal to a variety of different home buyers.

Debby Pavitt, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), says: "Three-storey living is extremely flexible, offering home owners the chance to use their living space in different ways and often to set aside whole areas of the house for teenage children, an older relative or visiting guests."

Among the house designs currently available at Coed Castell is the Neale, a popular four-bedroom, three-storey town house which offers several opportunities for purchasers to ‘personalise’ their living space.

The ground floor features a spacious fitted kitchen and breakfast room with patio doors onto the back garden, as well as a separate dining room for more formal occasions. However this room easily lends itself to other uses – such as a family room, study, home gym or maybe even a ground-floor bedroom. There is a cloakroom/wc on this floor too.

Moving up a level, the living room and master bedroom with en-suite are both found on the first floor. Having the living room above ground level offers additional privacy and an extra feeling of cosiness. The top floor features three further bedrooms and the family bathroom.

Debby adds: "This kind of layout is ideal for families as mum and dad can enjoy the peace and quiet of the middle floor for their bedroom and leave the floor above as the kids’ domain! Alternatively, for couples with no children or grown-up children who’ve flown the nest, they can use the ground and first floor for everyday living and keep the second floor pristine for when family and friends come to stay.

"The great thing about three storey living is that it suits so many different types of people."

The Neale house type is currently available from £199,950.

As well as the Neales, Redrow has other homes available with flexible accommodation arranged over three floors, including the highly desirable Ouse house type.

The spacious Ouse’s ground floor boasts a fitted kitchen/ dining room, ideal for throwing sociable dinner parties for friends or simply for preparing and enjoying delicious home cooked meals. The separate lounge runs the full length of the house from front to back and is ideal for unwinding in after a long day at school or the office. There’s also a utility room adjoining the kitchen and a ground floor cloakroom/wc.

The master bedroom with en-suite shower room, bedroom two and the family bathroom can be found on the first floor, while two further bedrooms ‘in the eaves’ make this a family home with lots of character.

Debby adds: "Many people spend thousands of thousands of pounds on a loft conversion but in properties like the Ouse, Redrow has done all of the hard work for them. We’ve taken the roofspace, which is often wasted or neglected, and turned it into a vibrant part of the house."

Coed Castell, in Coychurch Road, is a development of 192 new homes phased over three years, which will feature something for everyone, including one, two, three and four-bedroom homes.
