House builder pledges £100k to local community

Norton is set to benefit from the new Redrow development currently underway off Scarborough Road to the tune of £440,000.

As part of the house builders Section 106 agreement with Ryedale District Council, Redrow Homes has pledged the money that will go towards improving off-site roads around the Priorpot Mews development, creating recreational space and enabling local schools to develop by building new classrooms.

There are also plans for a permanent pumping station to help to cope with the increased drainage that will come from the new homes development.

Peter Harrison, land director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire) says: "We take our obligations to the communities we build in very seriously. Priorpot Mews will be a great development when it is completed and our agreement with the council to provide £440,000 will help to enhance the local community in ways which affect everyone – roads and schools."

Once completed Priorpot Mews will consist of 200 properties. Located in the semi-rural village of Norton, near Malton, Redrow is creating a stunning range of mews style homes, semi-detached properties and three storey townhouses to suit all tastes.

Among the properties available is the four-bedroom three-storey Neale property, which offers conventional living in an alternative layout.
