Winning sponsorship deal

Fri, Oct 6th 2006, 11:00

Luck of the draw brought about a winning sponsorship deal between Stenhousemuir FC and award winning house builder Redrow.

Redrow entered into a prize draw with 32 other companies to win the right to sponsor the Scottish League third division club.

The draw was held live on local radio and news of Redrow’s lucky strike was greeted happily by both parties.

Colin Crombie, regional director for Larbert-based Redrow Homes (Scotland), said: "The live radio draw added a real sense of excitement to this sponsorship deal and we are delighted to have got this great result. We are looking forward to strengthening our ties with Stenhousemuir and helping them in any way we can to on-field success."

In addition to sponsoring the senior team’s away shirts, Redrow also sponsors the club’s under-17 side. The football club recently received a huge boost when 17-year-old star player David Templeton was called up to the Scottish national team. He is the only non-SPL player to have been selected, marking a remarkable achievement for both club and player.

Campbell Money, head of youth development at Stenhousemuir FC says: "Everyone at the club is delighted to be affiliated with Redrow as they are a very well known and reputable company. Their support will be an invaluable asset to this club in our efforts to win trophies this season."

Sponsorship of Stenhousemuir FC is just one example of the many ways in which Redrow offers support, especially in the areas of sport, education and the arts.

Sponsorships, charity fundraising, employee volunteering and other initiatives have helped Redrow to retain the Business in the Community % Standard for three consecutive years, a voluntary benchmark which recognises companies that give at least one percent of their profits back to the community.
