Getting in the swing of things

Keen golfer and newly appointed land negotiator Claire Foster is teeing off for a successful career at Redrow Homes in the West Country.

Claire has just successfully completed Redrow’s graduate trainee scheme and is fresh from celebrating her recent promotion from land graduate to land negotiator.

After studying at Plymouth University and achieving a degree in rural resource management Claire spent a year at Westbury Homes working in both the planning and estimating departments before deciding that her future lay in land.

Claire explains: "Once I decided that I wanted to work in land I applied for Redrow’s graduate scheme and was delighted when I won my place. I was originally based at their South West subsidiary in Bristol before transferring to the new West Country operation. The graduate scheme really provided me with excellent on-the-job training including site visits, meetings with senior members of the team and training in negotiation."

 On her new role with Redrow Claire says: "I really like the fact that no two days are the same in this job and you also get the chance to meet lots of different of people when out in the field.

"I am also enjoying working with Debut, Redrow’s range of homes aimed at first time buyers, because I think it is fantastic that we are helping people onto the property ladder who otherwise could not afford to own a home of their own. We are hoping to introduce this range in the West Country as soon as possible."

When she is not busy working in the land department at Redrow Homes (West Country), whose offices are at Pynes Hill, Exeter, Claire, who lives in Taunton, can be spotted on the fairways of her local golf club. She has just started taking lessons and is already noticing a marked improvement in her game.
