Starter home tops the charts for local dj

A brand new home that was affordable and stylish was music to the ears of Touch FM DJ, Mark O’Sullivan.
The 24-year-old presenter of the drive time show has just snapped up his first bachelor pad at Redrow’s Debut development in Hilton – where the one and two-bedroom properties start from just £59,995*.
Mark works in Tamworth and currently lives with his parents in Derby. He said: "For me, Debut was just the best way to go. I think that when you’re renting, you’re just spending dead money and I’m looking for an investment. The opportunity to defer payment of 10% of the purchase price for 10 years on a fixed sum basis was also a big plus point for me because effectively it is an interest free loan and has really taken the edge off the initial outlay.
"I am very busy with work at the moment and so I wanted a stylish, low maintenance bachelor pad - not a long, expensive DIY project."
"I came to see the show home and I was so impressed with it that I wanted to move in as soon as possible. My apartment is already built and it is the same house type as the show home, so I am really looking forward to moving in."
When he is not on air, Mark’s main hobby is socialising and he said he is looking forward to using his new bachelor pad as a place to entertain friends. He said: "Living in the apartment on my own, there will easily be enough space to invite people over. Also, the second bedroom will be perfect as a spare room if I have visitors to stay."
Mark’s two-bedroom, two-storey ‘Debut four’ home comprises two double bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor and an open plan kitchen/lounge/dining room upstairs. A similar Debut home at Hilton is currently available from just £94,995*.
Julia Pallister, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), says: "People in their twenties like Mark want to cut the apron strings and find their freedom – at Debut @ Hilton this can become a reality.
"We want to banish the pre-conception that today’s first time buyers must live at home until they’re in their thirties. With properties currently for sale from under £60,000 at Hilton, twenty-somethings can move out of the family home and into a swish pad they can call their own.
"They can also enjoy a helping hand with learning to budget, thanks to a single monthly service charge which covers all gas and electricity bills, as well as buildings insurance, external maintenance – and even the window cleaning."
Situated on the edge of the Derbyshire village of Hilton, the development combines a great sense of rural and urban with Derby town centre just a short drive away. The development also provides excellent transport links to Nottingham, Stoke-on-Trent and Birmingham via the A38 and A50.

Redrow is also looking to bring the innovative Debut range to two new locations in the Midlands, with plans currently in the pipeline for developments in neighbouring Burton, as well as in Nuneaton.
