Good things come in threes

Three employees of Redrow Homes (Midlands) have been rewarded for their winning ways.
Ryan Adams was named sales consultant of the year, Mark Marsh took employee of the year and, last but not least, Shaun Marshall won site manager of the year.
Ryan, 25, is currently based at Redrow’s Debut development at Castle Vale, Birmingham. He said: "Initially I was shocked to have been called out to receive the award, but the surprise soon gave way to appreciation and gratitude. I’m delighted that Redrow has recognised my work in this way and I feel a real sense of achievement."
The Castle Vale development features Redrow’s innovative Debut product aimed at helping people take their first step onto the property ladder.
Ryan, who lives in Sutton Coldfield, said: "The award is mainly due to the work I have done on Debut, and that is an area I have really enjoyed. Debut customers are usually 20 to 30-year-olds and that means you get to meet some interesting and exciting young people.
"Also, I like that I am helping young people, through Debut, to buy their first property and to acquire an investment that will really benefit them in the long run."
Midlands’ employee of the year, Mark Marsh, 36, is design manager in the technical department at Redrow’s Tamworth office. He will have been with Redrow for four years in September, and is involved in training new employees. Pleasantly surprised to have received the award, Mark said: "I really didn’t think I would be chosen, as there are colleagues of mine who I thought deserved to win. The award is a real honour because the winner is voted for by fellow employees."
Mark, from Kenilworth, has also been heavily involved in Redrow’s innovative Debut schemes, helping to overcome their technical challenges.
"I always try to do my best to help people who come to me with problems. This usually means going to site and meeting the people involved to try to come to a solution. It’s just a lot easier to get a feel for a problem if you see it for yourself, rather than attempting to give advice over the phone."
He added: "This is the longest I have worked for a single employer and I would like to stay at Redrow and hopefully progress within the company."
Site manager, Shaun Marshall, who lives in Cannock, has worked at Redrow for six years and is currently based at the Dickens Heath development near Solihull.
He said: "I have always worked hard for Redrow, but this year has been especially frantic. I finished a very complex site at Streetly and during that time I had to manage another site at Rugby. After that I worked at a challenging site in Mountsorrel, Leicestershire, where building space was very restricted."
In his time at Redrow, Shaun has looked after 11 different sites, often being called to manage developments with difficult conditions or a lack of storage and manoeuvring space.
He added: "I am enjoying working for Redrow and I am grateful that they have recognised my efforts."
David Campbell-Kelly, Midlands regional chairman for Redrow, said: "All three of these awards are really well deserved. A company is only as effective as those people who work for it and it is thanks to the hard work of employees like Mark, Ryan and Shaun that Redrow is enjoying such success. Congratulations to all three of them."
