Sneak preview is key

‘Look before you leap’ is excellent advice and house hunters at Redrow’s Cwm Calon development in Ystrad Mynach near Caerphilly are certainly taking it on board.

Since the opening of the Neale style show home at the development, sales of this elegant house type have steadily increased. This further endorses a recent Redrow web poll result which showed that 53% of home buyers see a fully furnished show home as the most important marketing tool when choosing a new home.

Debby Pavitt, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (South Wales), says: "Our inspirational Neale show home is really driving interest in this house type. This home will appeal to a family given its four bedrooms and flexible layout. Likewise, professional couples can also adapt rooms to suit their lifestyle, for instance, using a bedroom as a study, while keeping spare rooms for guests."

The Neale enjoys a spacious and well laid out ground floor that includes a separate dining room, a cloakroom and a kitchen/breakfast area with patio doors that lead out onto the rear garden.

The first floor is home to the rear-facing lounge while the master bedroom with en-suite shower room has a front facing aspect. Upstairs again there are three further bedrooms and the family bathroom. If the Neale view home convinces buyers to taste the high life with a three-storey property of their own, now is the time to snap one up. Prices for the Neale currently start at just £179,950.

Debby says: "Three-storey homes are enjoying a renaissance as customers demand more home for their money and house builders are constantly finding new ways to enhance flexibility and space in new properties.

"For example, the Neale has a spacious kitchen/diner, so if the separate dining room is not needed it could be turned into a family room or home gym. Likewise one of the bedrooms above could be used as a dressing room or study – the possibilities are endless."

Current prices at this highly desirable and popular venture start at £158,950 for a Fairwood style three-bedroom home and go up to £306,950 for a five-bedroom Webburn home.

Redrow’s Cwm Calon development is part of a wider regeneration of the site, which will eventually also see the refurbishment of the colliery’s power hall, winding towers, ancillary buildings and two lakes.

The immediate amenities of Ystrad Mynach and the town of Caerphilly are close by and for commuters there are good road and rail links for the 14-mile journey south to Cardiff. Surrounding the colliery, Groundwork Caerphilly has already created a community park of some 180 hectares offering countryside walks.
