Bridlington Excelsiors have always enjoyed a good relationship with local house builder Redrow Homes and when they needed help, the loyal developer came to the rescue once again.
Bridlington Excelsiors, currently mid way in the Driffield District League, have two senior teams who desperately needed new playing kits for the start of the season.
Joe Emms, the team’s manager, says: “We have a good set of lads at the club with ages ranging from 16 to 23. We really needed a new kit for the start of the season and I knew that Redrow had helped us before so I thought there’d be no reason not to ask them again. Luckily they said yes.”
Redrow had previously bought the Excelsiors new rain jackets and were only happy to help out again.
Steve Ashbridge, site manager at Redrow’s Bridlington development, Cottage Farm, says: “Joe has worked with Redrow for over six years. We knew that they needed new kits and there was no hesitation to help out. He has lived in Bridlington all his life and we know he feels passionately about the team. The new kit looks great.”
Joe, who is currently working at Cottage Farm as a bricklayer, says: “All of the team is very grateful to Redrow and with the season just beginning, there is everything to play for.”
Julie Rayner, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), which is based in Wakefield, said: “We recognise the importance of corporate support for amateur sports and Redrow goes to great lengths to help such groups. Not only are we helping to maintain the health and fitness of members of the communities in which we operate, but we could also be encouraging future professional talent.”
Redrow has retained the Business in the Community Percent Standard for the third consecutive year for giving at least 1% of its pre-tax profits back to the community in cash donations, sponsorship, gifts in kind or management/employee time.
Cottage Farm, off West Crayke, in Bridlington, features more than 220 new homes, and has already welcomed a host of retired couples, holiday home buyers, families and first time buyers, thanks to the broad mix of properties on offer, including mews, bungalows and detached homes. The sought-after development also boasts glimpses of the North Sea and is a five minute drive from the North Beach or approximately 25 minutes on foot.
The marketing suite is open Tuesday to Sunday 10am - 5.30pm and Monday 1pm – 4.30pm and the sales team can be reached on 01262 670572 to offer more information about current availability at Cottage Farm.
