Carol’s win was music to her ears

When Carol Lock took her young boys to see a local radio DJ as a treat she never thought that it would be her who’d walk away with the £500 treat.

But that’s exactly what happened when local house builder Redrow hosted a special treasure hunt at the Priorpot Mews development in Norton, Malton, in conjunction with Minster FM.

Carol says: “We are busy moving home at the moment, so when my son heard about the event and said he’s never seen a radio DJ before; I thought it would be a nice treat for them as things have been a bit hectic.”

Minster FM hosted the evening’s event, live from the show home and the main attraction of the night was a treasure hunt for the grand prize of £500.

Carol’s eight-year-old son Nicholas found all the clues that where hidden in various parts of the show home, with the help of his two-year-old brother Matthew and won his very proud mum the £500 cheque.

“I don’t know how he did it – but he kept finding clue after clue until he had all the answers!  The money has come at exactly the right time with us moving home, although, as Nicholas was the one who found it, I have treated him too, with a new Liverpool Football Shirt” adds Carol.
Carol is planning on spending the money on decorating the new home and she has been inspired by the Malham show home at Priorpot Mews.

She adds: “The show home was beautifully decorated and I have managed to get a few ideas for my new home.  I really liked the feature wallpaper in the lounge and bedroom.”

Janine Bellamy, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), says: “The three-bedroom, three-storey Malham was the perfect choice to host a treasure hunt due to the fact that it offers three floors of living space with an integral garage.  There were a lot of nooks and crannies for us to hide the clues.

“At Priorpot Mews we have a wide choice of properties for home hunters on all steps of the property ladder and a host of opening offers so whether they are looking for their first home, a nest for the family or are looking to downsize – their perfect new home will undoubtedly be found here.”
