Redrow puts Lichfield in the mix

A flagship mixed use scheme featuring new homes and office space is set to launch in Lichfield early next year.

Redrow Homes, already a familiar name in Lichfield thanks to its new homes development, The Parade, has now commenced work on this prestigious City Centre project, incorporating 132 homes and more than 40,000 sq ft of office accommodation. The project will also see Lichfield District Council’s existing training centre relocated into new and improved premises.

Known as City Wharf, this flagship mixed use project is located on Upper St John Street. A marketing launch will be held in January 2007 with all the signs pointing towards a successful inauguration.

The site is very prominent being so close to the station and the City Centre and not surprisingly there has been a prolonged planning period to deliver a fine scheme.

“City Wharf will feature a mix of homes from across the Redrow range, from apartments and starter homes up to four bedroom townhouses. The first phase of office development will also start in 2007 for completion in early 2008.
The site is set to offer as much in terms of quality and stylish appearance as it does in location, with carefully selected contemporary designs for both the residential dwellings and office accommodation so that the architecture becomes ‘seamless’ between the two uses.  Much has been made of the elevations facing the station to leave an impression on those arriving or leaving Lichfield by train.

Lichfield is well positioned – it offers an excellent communications network with the A38 providing direct links to the M42, M40, M5, M6 and M1.

Lichfield train station provides scheduled services to Stafford, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, London and beyond.  Birmingham International and Nottingham Airports are also within commuting distance.
