It’s showtime!

Wed, Nov 22nd 2006, 11:00

It was a family affair at Buckshaw Village, in Euxton, near Chorley, as Redrow marked the launch of the new ‘show village’ at Worden Court.

For one day only all of the fun of the fair came to Redrow’s well-established Lancashire development. Hot dogs, candy floss and a children’s entertainer all added some carnival magic in celebration of the opening of the Ouse, Eden and Ribble show homes within the new village.

Christine Aitken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), says: “It was a great day. The children loved having their faces painted and having their favourite animals made out of balloons, while parents took the opportunity to have a look around the fantastic new show village at Worden Court and get all the details about our latest releases.

“The weekend generated a lot of interest from potential home buyers and current residents, too. The Buckshaw Village community brought their families and really showcased what life is like at the development. It has matured into a fabulous new homes venture which we’re extremely proud of.”

The new show home interiors have been styled by Redrow’s chosen designers, Connections in Design.

The Ribble has been decorated with a palette of red, cream and white. Christine says: “The use of the bright whites and creams adds the element of light and airiness that is prevalent throughout the home, while the different red hues provide a striking contrast.”

On the ground floor the Ribble has a separate lounge, dining room, kitchen and cloakroom. The lounge has an open feel and muted cream walls; a deep red couch adds the element of glamour, while the dining room has been designed with elegant red, silver and grey floral-patterned wallpaper.

The first floor holds the family bathroom along with three bedrooms and at the top of the house is the master bedroom with en-suite.

Christine adds: “The bedrooms have been designed with a young family in mind. One of the rooms has been used as a nursery, decorated in dazzling white with red night lights and red and white striped cushions. The teenager’s bedroom has been given a funky make over. A vibrant green wall, luminous spotty and striped cushions and red accessories complete the contemporary look. The adults can spread out in their own space at the top of the house in the master suite, which has been decorated with maroon and beige colours, giving the room a relaxed feel.

“Having that extra space in a three-storey home gives you the flexibility to define living spaces and maximise each floor’s potential. Whether the roof space is used to give a teenager his or her own freedom, a quiet retreat for the parents or keep it for honoured guests, it’s totally up to you and how you live.”

Priced at £239,995, the Ribble show home has been dressed to depict how to best maximise the space, with the top floor used as ‘the adults’ hideaway’ a fantastic master bedroom – perfect for those who want privacy and those who work from home, who can use one of the bedrooms on the middle floor as a home office.

Christine says: “To give visitors a real taste of Redrow’s choice of homes we’ve also opened the doors to the two-bedroom Eden, priced from £154,995 and the four-bedroom Ouse, which comes with a £236,995 price tag.”

The Eden has been decorated with shades of maroon, purple and lilac, shot through with black, to give a feminine feel with a twist to this outstanding home.

The Ouse has been highlighted with earthy tones of green, blue and brown, revealing a soothing atmosphere in this home that is perfect for growing families and downsizers who wish to spread out.

The three fabulous new show homes have been introduced to promote the latest phase of Worden Court, a development that comprises a mix of two-bedroom apartments and three, four and five-bedroom homes, mostly detached, including some with flexible accommodation arranged over three floors.

It’s one of the latest phases of new homes within the award-winning Buckshaw Village, near Chorley.

Buckshaw Village is a visionary mixed-use scheme set in the heart of Lancashire, between the M6 and M61. Along with the new homes, there is an 80-acre business park called Matrix Park, with further commercial areas planned. There are also proposals for a district shopping centre, provision for a new railway station with park and ride facilities, a primary school, health centre and outdoor sports amenities

The new show village at Worden Court in Euxton, near Chorley, is now open from 10am to 5.30pm daily, so home buyers can get a real feel for life at this exciting development.
