A house builder in Northampton has increased an already sizeable donation to a disability centre which looks after people with multiple sclerosis and other degenerative neurological illnesses – and loyal customers have helped provide the funds.

Having already raised £14,750 for Favell House, in Northampton via its annual charity dinner, Redrow Homes (South Midlands) is now donating a further £1,000, after the company won an annual in-house incentive for its efforts to raise customer satisfaction.

A newly introduced scheme rewards Redrow regional housing companies that score highly in post-legal completion, customer satisfaction surveys and invites them to donate a cash prize to the charity of their choice.

Everyone who moves into a brand new Redrow home is contacted independently and asked to rate the level of customer service they received and whether they would recommend a Redrow home to their friends.

The Northampton-based operation was Redrow’s most successful company in 2005/06, beating competition from 12 other regional housing companies in England, Scotland and Wales.  The South Midlands company had the best combined score for overall customer satisfaction and whether purchasers would recommend Redrow to friends and family.

Redrow’s chosen beneficiary, Favell House, is a physical disability unit that provides respite and crisis care and also day care of patients predominantly with multiple sclerosis and other degenerative neurological illnesses. It provides essential support to those who have been affected by neurological illnesses such as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease, through a mixture of day care sessions where visitors can receive any assistance they may require, and respite, where they can stay at Favell House.

Redrow recently raised £14,750 for the centre via a charity sportsman’s dinner supported by staff, suppliers and sub-contractors.

Suzanne Irons, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), said: “We’re delighted to be continuing our support for Favell House. It is a fantastic place that provides great support for very many people.  When we heard that our commitment to customer satisfaction had brought about an unexpected windfall, we thought of them immediately.

“The prize is given in recognition of our team’s efforts to ensure that our customers are completely satisfied with the service they receive and it is extremely rewarding to know that we achieved the best overall score within the Redrow group of companies.”

Karen Serdeczna, physical disability service manager at Favell House, commented: “We are already extremely grateful to Redrow for the massive contribution they made following their sportsman’s dinner so this additional donation really is the icing on the cake and will help us make a real difference to the lives of those we help and support.”
