Web attracting house hunters

Tue, Nov 28th 2006, 11:00

A growing number of savvy house hunters are using the internet when it comes to finding their dream home according to a new web poll.

A recent survey on the Redrow Homes’ website found that more than half of home buyers now say the internet is their first port of call.

And when people find their property via more traditional routes, such as press advertising, they are often using the Internet at some stage of the process – to check property details, locations and generally gather more information.

Maria Tofani and her family recently moved into their brand new home at Redrow’s Cwrt Penrhiwtyn development, in Neath, thanks to a little help from Redrow’s own website and rightmove.co.uk

Maria explains: “We first used the internet to find an estate agent to help sell our old house in Carmarthenshire. We found the right move website particularly helpful and found an agent who sold our house within three months. Using the internet gave us access to a much wider market and we could also put our house plans on the agent’s website which really got across how spacious the property was to potential buyers.

“After our good experience with rightmove.co.uk we decided to search for our new home on-line as well. We found the Redrow website very useful for finding out more about specific developments and also for identifying house styles we liked.”

The Tofani family eventually decided that Cwrt Penrhiwtyn in Neath was the ideal location for their new family home. The development is open and spacious making it an easy transition for a family used to countryside living.

Maria says: “While we were waiting for our new Redrow home to be built we decided to try and rent a house on the development to make moving in easier. Again the internet proved incredibly useful as we were able to find a house for rent at Cwrt Penrhiwtyn from which we could watch our new home being created. Now we are happily installed in our new home and looking forward to many happy years here.”

Cwrt Penrhiwtyn is conveniently located close to all the amenities of Neath town centre. The development is only a five minute drive away from the M4 and just 20 minutes from Swansea.

The area boasts a number of outdoor leisure activities including golf, boating, fishing and water skiing for the more energetic. As well as a fantastic selection of restaurants, theatres and cinemas there are also a great many places of interest to visit including Neath Castle, overlooking the town and Victoria Gardens.
