Success in creating iconic new homes developments that cater for people on every rung of the property ladder has helped Redrow earn the esteemed title of ‘Residential Developer of the Year’ at a top annual awards ceremony.
The prestigious accolade – bestowed jointly on Redrow Homes (West Midlands) and Redrow Homes (Midlands) - is yet another success for the leading house builder, which has won a spate of industry awards in the past year.
More than 800 stars of the West Midlands property world turned out for Business Insider magazine’s sixth annual Property Awards at the NEC Hilton, which are regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the property industry.
The judges were unanimously impressed with Redrow, and the house builders diverse housing range, saying: “Redrow has come close to scooping our residential category several times but this year was a deserved winner for a string of city and suburban schemes.
“The firm has had an outstanding year, involved in a lot of big schemes around the region. They are also doing a lot of partnering with manufacturers and really thinking about the way they deliver projects.”
Redrow’s innovative Debut range of affordable first time buyer homes was one of the key developments that judges took into consideration when choosing the winner.
The house builder has introduced the low cost homes in several areas of the West Midlands, including Hanley in Stoke on Trent and Castle Vale near Birmingham, with sell out success, such is the demand for homes in the lower price bracket.
Redrow’s prowess in developing iconic city ventures, such as Jupiter in central Birmingham, and Hemisphere in Edgbaston, also helped the house builder claim the title.
And the house builder’s award-winning new urban village, Dickens Heath in Solihull, was another key scheme that sealed the win. Here Redrow is the lead house builder in a consortium of developers who have worked together over the past 15 years to bring the village, which will eventually comprise more than 1200 new homes as well as shops, a school and other community facilities, to fruition.
Managing director for Redrow Homes (West Midlands), Adrian Farr, said: “Redrow has a strong presence across the West Midlands, building everything from first time buyer homes to stylish city apartments to traditional family homes. It’s a proud moment to be named ‘House Builder of the Year’.”
Alan Dorn, managing director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), continued: “It’s been a very successful year for us, and to win ‘House Builder of the Year’ is the icing on the cake. Our Debut range has really struck a chord with homebuyers, and we’re proud to be creating a viable option for people who want to get on the property ladder.”
Redrow Homes (West Midlands) which operates from Halesowen, is building new homes in Edgbaston, Streetly, Hednesford, Oldbury, Quarry Bank, and has several high profile ventures in Stoke on Trent.
