Home buyers’ loyalty helps Hampshire hospice

A house builder in Basingstoke is making a donation to Naomi House Children’s Hospice.

Redrow Homes (Southern) is donating £500 to Naomi House Children’s Hospice in Winchester, after the company won a quarterly in-house incentive for its commitment to customer satisfaction.

A newly introduced scheme rewards Redrow regional housing companies that score highly in post-legal completion, customer satisfaction surveys and invites them to donate a cash prize to the charity of their choice.

Everyone who moves into a brand new Redrow home is contacted independently and asked to rate the level of customer service they received and whether they would recommend Redrow to their friends.

The Basingstoke-based operation was Redrow’s most successful company from July – September this year, beating competition from 12 other regional housing companies in England, Scotland and Wales.

Every single Southern customer who responded to the telephone survey said they would recommend Redrow to a friend or family member and 90% said they were totally satisfied with the service they received.

Redrow’s chosen beneficiary, Naomi House, is a purpose-built children's hospice that provides a home-from-home environment for children and young people with life-limiting conditions that mean that they will not live to become adults.

Situated just north of Winchester in Hampshire, the hospice offers one-to-one respite, palliative, terminal and bereavement care and support to children and their families in central southern England. They are open 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year and it costs around £2.5 million every year to keep this service running.

With less than 1% of their income coming from government, Naomi House relies almost entirely on the generosity of people in the community. Their help and time allows the hospice to provide these crucial care services, free of charge, to children and their families.

Jill Livingstone, corporate fundraiser for Naomi House, said: “We are delighted to receive this donation. The continued support of Redrow Homes (Southern) is very much appreciated by everyone at Naomi House.”

Paul Moran, sales director for Redrow (Southern), said: “We’re thrilled to be able to make a contribution to Naomi House. We’ve forged a strong relationship with the hospice over the last few years and regularly raise funds for them, so when we received our unexpected windfall there was no question of where it should go.

“The prize is given in recognition of our team’s efforts to ensure that our customers are completely satisfied with the service they receive and it is extremely rewarding to know that we achieved the best overall score within the Redrow group of companies.”

Redrow’s Basingstoke-based Southern operation currently has a number of developments at Arborfield, Bracknell and Thatcham, in Berkshire, Bexhill-on-Sea and Eastbourne, in East Sussex, Crawley and Horsham in West Sussex and High Wycombe, Bucks, as well as a proposed new venture of 480 properties alongside Farnborough Business Park, in Farnborough.
