Up, up and away!

When Finley Worthington from Plymouth entered a balloon race in August, he had no idea his balloon would end up over a hundred miles away in France.
The Redrow-sponsored race, one of the main highlights of the Devonport Regeneration Community Partnership fun day, held at Plymouth Albion rugby club in August, had dozens of entries - all of whom have been waiting in anticipation to find out where their balloon may have travelled to.
But it was five-year-old Finley Worthington from Roborough in Plymouth, who got the call from Redrow’s community liaison officer, Anne Tillett, to tell him he had won the race.
Tracey Renshaw, Finley’s mum, says: “We couldn’t believe it when we got the letter telling us Finley had won, he was so excited.
“Finley and his sister, Imogen, wanted to enter the race as soon as they saw it, but we never expected either of them to win. We had forgotten all about it, until Redrow got in touch with us after the half-term holiday telling us Finley’s balloon had made it all the way to France!”
Anne Tillett said: “The Devonport Regeneration Community Partnership fun day is always a great event, and there was a lot of excitement about the race, but we were amazed when we found out that one of the Redrow balloons had managed to travel so far away. Finley is a very deserving winner, and it gave me great pleasure to hand him the £100 cheque.”
Tracey laughs: “He’s spent his winnings already! He treated himself to a scooter, and got his little sister one too so she didn’t feel left out.”
