The best things in life are worth waiting for

Would-be home owners who thought their time would never come are celebrating after finally taking their place on the property ladder – with a helping hand from Redrow.

More than 90 first time buyers were thrown a lifeline when Redrow introduced its award winning Debut range at St David’s Park, near Hawarden – and those lucky purchasers are now beginning to move in.

When the innovative one and two-bedroom Debut homes went on sale off-plan, less than a year ago, they sold out in just two days.

The first residents have already moved into their new homes, with more getting packed up and ready to move in the New Year.

And to celebrate, Redrow hosted a ‘Getting on the ladder’ party in honour of the new home owners and to give everyone a chance to meet their new neighbours.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (North West) says: “It was a great opportunity for all the new residents at St David’s Park to meet and one lucky home owner walked away with a year’s free membership at St David’s Park Hotel gym and spa.”

It only took 48 hours for most of the 97 properties at St David’s Park, near Hawarden to be snapped up, thanks largely to prices that started from under £60,000.  Two of the properties, a D1 and D3, have been retained by Redrow and dressed as show homes to help promote Debut developments in other areas.

Patsy adds: “Debut @ St David’s Park has repeated the success of other Debut schemes throughout the UK in Lancashire, Warwickshire, Derbyshire and Kent.  It is an exciting time for all those who bought as they are starting to move in now.”

Debut’s one and two-bedroom homes boast a fresh design, with sloping high ceilings, lots of window space to let light flood in and a contemporary layout. Prices and running costs are kept as low as possible, including a single monthly service charge to cover the main utility bills and external maintenance for easy budgeting.

“It’s great when you are able to help struggling first-time buyers.  Throughout the UK, Debut has already helped around 900 people get their foot on the property ladder and many more Debut homes are due to be built. Every first time buyer at St. David’s Park was so happy when they received their keys – I’m sure it will be the perfect way for them to start off 2007,” adds Patsy.

Although St David’s Park is the first development in North Wales to feature Debut homes, Redrow is working with local councils to bring more of these innovative homes to Welsh first-time buyers, including locations in the south of the country such as Merthyr Tydfil, Newport, Ebbw Vale and North Cornelly, near Bridgend.

Apart from Debut, Redrow continues to build an extensive range of sought-after family homes in desirable town and village locations throughout the North West and North Wales, including Pentre Bach and Ty Newydd in Wrexham.
