Sales supremo ready for next challenge

Home hunters in Wiltshire who want A-list service will find it at Redrow’s Lakelands Edge development, in Westbury – where they’ll be assisted by ‘sales consultant of the year’ Hayley Brown.

Fresh from her win, Hayley is now raring to go at her new development – Lakelands Edge – based at Station Road in Westbury, and is bringing her award-winning sales expertise with her.

Despite her love of her job, Hayley, who lives in Portishead, never expected to win the prestigious accolade. She says: “I wasn’t expecting it at all, and when I heard my name read out I just felt really, really pleased, and then a little bit emotional.”

“It’s so nice to be recognised for what you do, and the Redrow charity dinner dance, where my award was presented, was a great night. I wouldn’t like to guess why I won, but I suppose the fact that I’ve been quite flexible and have just got on with the job in hand must have played a part.”

It’s been a whirlwind two years at Redrow for Hayley, who joined the housebuilder after working for eight years as an air hostess. Previously, she was based at Redrow’s Charlcombe Heights development in Portishead, before spending time at the company’s offices in Bristol preparing for the launch of Redrow’s unique Knightstone Island venture, in Weston-super-mare. And her work certainly paid off, resulting in 40% of the homes being sold just on the launch night!

Lorraine Kendrick, sales director for Redrow Homes (South West) says: “Hayley has achieved so much in a relatively short time at the company and we have high hopes for her future. Winning ‘sales consultant of the year’ is no mean feat, and I’m delighted that our customers can be assured of such great service.”

As well as handling sales at Lakelands Edge, Hayley is also spending part of the week in the Bristol office, and loves the new challenge, saying: “It’s totally different to working out on site and I’ve learnt so much about what goes on before a development is launched. It’s really widened my knowledge of the company as whole.”

The £500 prize will certainly come in handy too, as the 32-year-old sales star plans to take a well-deserved break to Egypt later this year. But before that she’s looking forward to getting stuck in at Lakelands Edge.

She explains: “We’re not on site just yet – and so are marketing our sales at Allen and Harris estate agents in Westbury - but I can’t wait to get started at the development, or for our show home to open in June 2007. At the moment we’re selling off plan – which can be really difficult – but so far we’ve managed to sell 10 of the 73 properties, which is pretty good going! I love the people side of my work and so will really enjoy being able to show the customers around the development and the plots. Overall, the best thing about my job is the variety – I’m always doing something different and never get bored, it’s fantastic!”
