Get it right first time

First time buyers now need to save harder and for longer in order to put down a decent deposit.
Recent research carried out by the Halifax reveals that first time buyers (FTBs) take an average of five years to save enough money to get on the property ladder - over six months longer than it took in 2005.
But for those FTBs on the hunt in Daventry, buying the first home could not be easier, as Redrow is treating them to an array of incentives - including taking care of the deposit - making that first move all the more seamless if they move to Royal Park, off Braunston Road.
Suzanne Irons, sales director for Redrow Homes (South Midlands), says: “One of the main benefits for house hunting novices who purchase an apartment at Royal Park is that we will pay 5% deposit, helping to place them firmly on the first rung of the property ladder. It is an excellent start for first time buyers and gives them the chance to enjoy living in their first dream home, worry-free.”
Other offers for home buyers hoping to get off the starting blocks include free fitted carpets throughout the apartment, saving them more money, and £500 towards legal fees when making the transaction.
Two-bedroom apartments are from as little as £136,995. The master bedroom features an en-suite shower room and the apartment also includes a contemporary living/dining area and a large second bedroom - ideal for when guests come to stay or even suitable for friends who want to buy together to share mortgage costs and stop wasting money on rent.
Daventry is an ideal location for FTBs who want to get in shape. Its leisure centre offers an extensive range of activities, from tennis on the racquet courts to the gym for a work out. There is also a 33m outdoor swimming pool which is perfect for diving-ideal for those long summer days. Within the local area there are a number of quality golf courses, and angling and sailing are available at Drayton Reservoir.
The town centre provides all of the modern shopping facilities. There is also a range of restaurants in the centre which serve Indian, Chinese and Italian cuisine and for evening entertainment there is a variety of traditional pubs set against the backdrop of the Northamptonshire countryside.
The central location of the town is perfect for those seeking access to all areas in England as it is conveniently located between a network of main roads and the M1 and M6 motorways. The A45 and A5 are close by. In addition, the M40, M45 and A14 East/West link roads border the district.
Rail links from nearby Long Buckby station (approximately 4 miles) will take you to London Euston and Birmingham. There is also a well serviced regular bus service within the local area.
